Veterinary Services
We provide advanced first opinion abdominal, thoracic, neck and echocardiographic ultrasound imaging for canine and feline patients.
Ultrasound
Full abdominal ultrasound investigation will include assessment of all abdominal organs, including the Liver, Gall bladder, Stomach, Pancreas, Spleen, Kidneys, Adrenals, Small and Large intestines, and the urogenital tract.
Echocardiography includes B-mode, M-mode, and Doppler assessment using right and left parasternal and subcostal windows. An integrated ECG ensures accurate timing of measurements.
Ultrasound-guided assessment and sampling of mediastinal and thoracic masses is commonly indicated for mediastinal or solid lung masses. Thoracic ultrasound is also extremely useful in aiding placement of catheters for therapeutic drainage pericardial effusions.
Indicated for patients with known hypercalcemia or deviations in thyroid hormone for identification of parathyroid and thyroid masses.
This is a relatively new diagnostic tool in canine soft tissue injury. The development of high-resolution equipment has resulted in better image quality and gives the imager a tremendous range of applications for accurate diagnosis and monitoring of a multitude of musculoskeletal conditions.
Ultrasound guided FNA, and centesis is a minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedure. Sedation is usually sufficient to achieve good quality FNA samples, however general anaesthesia is recommended for TruCut biopsies or Cholecentesis.
Peripatetic Endoscopy
The purpose of endoscopic examination is to help your veterinarian make a diagnosis of the disease that has been causing your pet’s clinical signs of vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, abdominal pain or swelling, or loss of appetite.
Bronchoscopy is an invaluable technique for the diagnosis of airway and lung disease in that it allows visual inspection of the trachea and major airways to assess for airway pathology, aids in the localisation and retrieval of airway foreign bodies, and allows accurate sampling from airways and lung areas of interest.
Rhinoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows the veterinary surgeon to directly examine the back of the nose (nasopharynx) and the nasal cavities.
Cystoscopy has become an important and widely available component of the diagnostic evaluation of diseases of the lower urinary tract in dogs and cats, providing a minimally invasive approach to many urogenital conditions such as including urolithiasis, urethral obstruction, polyps, masses and anatomical abnormalities such as ectopic ureters.
